The still water of Swift Creek Lake is a rare gift to reflect stunning Virginia sunsets.
That's right, these are the types of evenings we are privileded to experience at our lakefront studio at Butler Portraits. As portrait artists backing the vision of the renowned Daniel Butler, nothing pleases us more than real, natural backdrops that rival something store-bought, or crafted for our indoor studio. Natural beauty, in natural, variant lighting, and cloudscapes that stop our guests in their tracks. What a scene! It's quite the setting for any context, or occasion.
This particular sunset came at the end of a day in the middle of the week, just as winter was finally making itself known at the end of 2015. TJ, our portrait consultant many of you know and love, came back into the building after locking up the portrait park outside, chilly, but overjoyed about something. Adjacent to the beach studio, TJ was able to catch a glimpse of a horizon worth sharing. He ran into the offices exclaiming "You've all got to see this one!"
We're glad we did, and are happy to see so many shades of it each and every week.
Whether it's blistering hot, or a wintry day such as this, like professional models, our guests and families love to take a step outside from our more classic Camera Room sittings to take advantage of a few shots outside.
