Have you ever looked back on a moment and been confused as to where the time has gone?
"I could still see the three-year-old that opened that door 14 years ago. Never back then did I imagine how fast time would go by, or how priceless that moment would be."
October 21, 2015, is the day that Doc Brown and Marty McFly visited in the 1989 sequel of the 1985 Back to Future original film. We thought that there would be no more of an appropriate day than that day—today—to share this wonderfully moving back-in-time story.
A large part of our purpose at Butler Portraits is to commemorate both the little moments, as well as the milestones to look back on for decades to follow. Susan's mother reached out to Butler Portraits almost 15 years following Susan's first portrait sitting, hoping we'd have the capability to replicate the original portrait selection.
"I was very pleased to find out that they did," Susan's mother said.
The most important part of this anecdote is how moving it is for both Susan's family—and us at Butler Portraits.
"Susan at the age of three opening the door has always been one of my favorites from when she was little," Susan's mom reminisces. "She was always a little curious, yet oh so very sweet. Now she's a senior getting ready to graduate high school. I thought about all the doors of opportunity for her and the many doors that are still yet to be opened. To see the young lady where a three-year-old once stood opening the door to her future...
"I had no idea graduation would be coming so fast."
